Concentration Areas and Research Lines

Concentration Area: Animal Production and Nutrition

The area of Animal Production and Nutrition encompasses the understanding of nutritional requirements, assessment and conservation of food, breeding, handling and facilities for animals. This area provides the basis for the application of scientific research in favor of animal production. The professional master's degree seeks promote interaction of the science perspective with the practical field, enabling the most in-depth knowledge of Animal Production and Nutrition and the development of practices or products that meet either scientific and technical demands, which also includes the management of productive systems.

Research lines:

I - Swine and Poultry Production and Nutrition

This research line studies important concepts applied to poultry, pork, fish and equines production and nutrition, aswell as to investigate and develop technologies applied to poultry and pig breeding systems seeking productive and economic efficiency.

II - Bovine Production and Nutrition

This research line studies important concepts applied to production and nutrition of dairy and beef cattle, as well as to investigate and develop technologies applied to cattle kept in grazing or feedlot systems aiming at productive and economic efficiency.
